ABOUT US
Established in 2000, Stenson Stores has primarily been serving the communities of Stenson Fields and Sinfin. As our presence and service has grown, so too have the number of customers passing through our doors. We welcome all customers, from neighbouring communities in South Derbyshire, and from the City of Derby too.
Our mission is simple: to be your Local Convenience Store of choice by being competitive, convenient and friendly. As members of the community, we are aware how our presence as a Family Established Business reflects our values, and we sincerely hope you embrace our retail culture.
We are a proud to belong to the community, and as such have good relations with our fellow local merchants. Our daily interactions with our customers define how we do business: by meeting the demands of our community.

OUR STORY
Our Story begins in 2000. Having acquired a neglected empty premises, our family of 5 began to work hard to transform the vision of our Founder, into something similar that you see today.
Palwinder Kaur, our founder, managed the Shop section of our business for the first seven years; together with her husband Santokh Singh, being the face behind all operations, both financial, and logistical. Assisted by their three children, Stenson Stores quickly won over our community, and as such, we established ourselves as a community store champion.

From 2008, Santokh Singh became the face of the business, having retired from his position as a Engineer, which gave him more time to focus on pushing the business forward. Gourakh Singh became his Deputy, and assisted him in this venture up to 2011.
2011 was the year our business operations expanded, for our on-site Cafe adjoining the Shop was opened, and is now managed by Palwinder Kaur.
The Cafe still serves as an alternative point for the community to be served home-made style meals. Specialising in Punjabi food, whilst also serving more traditional Cafe style meals such as an All Day Breakfast, our recipes are simple, yet effective.
2020 will mark the 20th Anniversary of our Shop, the first venture of our business. As such, Gourakh Singh, our Operations Manager, will continue to work hard, to ensure our Retail Vision continues.
The products, goods, and services we offer to the community today and in the future should be fit for purpose, sustainable, affordable, readily available, and accessible. As Stenson Fields has transformed over the years, so has the needs and demands of our residents. As such, we will work hard to continue to be your Local Convenience Store of Choice.

SANTOKH SINGH SANGERA
Director
Santokh or Sam as many have known him is an Engineer by Profession. As a Proof Inspector for Rolls Royce for most of his professional career, Santokh aided the business venture of his wife back in 2000, and since, has self taught himself how to successfully direct and lead. Today Santokh still directs the business, but is less hands on than previously. He now enjoys his time travelling.
